A bowl of ramen, cat-sized. The rim is wound in black jute rope with a white stripe, the inside is red rope, and the toppings are what you would hope for: a plush fried egg, a swirled fishcake slice, a sprig of greens, a tangle of rope noodles and a pair of chopsticks resting across the top.
Rope on both the rim and the inside means a cat can scratch the edge from outside or settle in and work at the bottom of the bowl. The plush toppings give it something to knead and bat about, and once the scratching is done the bowl doubles as a bed: a cat can curl up inside it with the rim around it.
At 48 cm across and 16.5 cm high it sits low on the floor and takes about the same space as a small round rug. A blue napkin with the zeze name hangs over the side. It weighs approx. 2.3 kg, light enough to carry from the living room to the bedroom and back.

hercat began with Coco, our founder, and Coco, the deaf cat she brought home from a London shelter in 2018, whom the shelter had already named after her. From that pair came the whole idea of the shop: a home that works for both of them. We make our own plant-based litter, the one you may know as CocoCat (it is becoming HerCat: same team, same care), and we choose a small number of other brands for the rest of a cat's home, from trees and scratchers to bowls and toys.
Because a cat and the person she lives with are two full lives in one home, and cat products are made for the cat, or for the person. We choose for both. Everything here has to work in a flat where the tray cannot be hidden: litter that clumps fast and keeps the dust down, furniture a cat will use and you will not want to hide. We say plainly what each product does and does not do, and if something stops earning its place, it comes off the shelf.
